St. George

January 13th-16th we went to St. George for a getaway from the bitter cold. Brett's Grandparents live down there, and we always like going to visit them. I was a little worried about the drive and if Avery would last. Randy saved the day with his portable DVD player. We didn't arrive until about 10 that night, so we were all a little tired! The day the boys went golfing while Avery napped and Grandma and I were able to catch up. That night we went to Brick Oven for dinner Yummy!! We found out that Grandma and Grandpa are also addicted to 24. They had the 8th season that we have been waiting for I watched a few before falling asleep (I know big surprise).

Saturday morning we thought it was time for Avery to go have some fun. We took her to Jumpin' Jacks. At first she didn't wanted to go on anything and was acting all scared (so not like her). Brett kept trying and before you knew it she was having a blast. She was climbing up to the slides all by herself and going down the huge slides with no problem.

After getting all her energy out at Jumpin Jacks we went back for her nap. Grandma and I were able to go have some girl time, and what could be better than shopping. She took me to a upscale consignment store. It was such a cool store, and I found some really cute shirts which always makes my day. They seriously need that store here it would be a hit. Grandpa was so nice to stay home while Avery was napping. While we finished shopping Randy and Brett got in one more round of golf. When Avery got up from her nap I took her to the park. It was a perfect day lots of sunshine and we didn't have to even wear jackets. She had such a blast and so was I..I love, love the weather down there.
That night Grandma made a yummy dinner, and for dessert her chocolate sauce YUM!! We put Avery to bed at 8, and had our annual round of Mexican train. I was not on my A game that night I lost big time!! but it was still fun. We ended the night with more episodes of 24.

Avery loved little Abby and wanted to hold her like a baby. Avery was always chasing Abby and cats around the house. This girl loves animals!!

Grandma and Grandpa were so cute with Avery. She loved them, and especially when Grandpa would tickle her. They were quite smitten with Avery with her giggles and all. I am so glad we took her so they could see how big she is getting.

4 Generations! Abby didn't want to left out!

Grandma gave Avery this little doll. She asks where it is everyday. I was so sad to leave the warm weather, but we couldn't stay forever. I can't wait to go again!!

box=bed

Avery had so much fun playing in this box. She loved being pushed around the house in it, but it wore me out doing it over and over! She also found that it made a nice little bed just her size. She went and got a pillow and blanket and made her self comfortable.

Bowling!

Avery found her Halloween costume once again, and of course wanted to get it right on. She also found her boots, and surprisingly put them on the right foot. The bow she is wearing was also her choice..love how she matches so good!!

She loves playing with her new princesses that she got from Santa. Its so cute to see her play with her little princesses. The other day I was playing with her and I was pretending they were talking to each other. She has now picked that up and had Ariel and Cinderella facing each other and she would say "want to come play with me." It was the cutest thing ever!!

Her absolute favorite game to play is her Princess bowling set. When she successfully knocks them all done she cheers and says Wahoo!!! It was especially funny that day because of her little outfit and her cheering positions. I love the one where it looks like she is doing a cheer leading move. This girl is a natural born dancer!

My little artist

Avery had so much fun playing with her new paints. She painted Winnie the pooh, piglet and tiger. At first she was a little hesitant and about putting her fingers in the paint, but it didn't last too long. Before I knew it she was covered with paint, and was loving every minute of it.

Christmas morning

Christmas morning couldn't come fast enough. Avery slept in until 930 and Brett and I were so anxious to start. As soon as she woke up we ran into her room and said Santa came and she just lit up!!

The first thing she saw was her bike, and she ran right up to and said my bike! She wanted to ride it right then. She was grinning from ear to ear! We took a few rides around the house and i tried to teach her how to pedal..still a little hard, but hopefully someday she will get it.

Her first present she opened was a dress that says princess on the front. She was screaming with excitement, and she did not waste any time. She started taking off her pajamas and wanted to put it on right then and there. Oh how a dress can make a little girl so happy. Santa knows exactly what Avery wanted!!

Avery opened a few more, and then she was done. So we all opened a few from Santa. I was most excited about our blog book we finally printed our first one, and I love it!! So fun to have book to remember our first year with Avery.

Brett got some new jeans, and belt. He has had the same brown belt for 8 years, so it was about time he got a new one. I got some new boots and the new Rascal flats cd!! Wayne gave us new pillows and Avery got a unicorn pillow pet.

We finally got Avery excited about opening a few more presents. Once she opened her dress up shoes it was all over after that. She was having so much fun putting them on and modeling for us. That's all she needed shoes and a dress and she was one happy girl!! Soon Brett and I had to start opening presents for her.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent with Brett's family this year. We had our first annual ugly sweater contest. Everyone looked so funny, and Debbie even dressed up for the occasion. I hope this is a yearly tradition. Soon after pictures everyone took their sweaters off, but it was fun while it lasted.

After dinner we did our first Muir nativity. Avery was suppose to be Mary, but she was not to happy and didn't want to cooperate. Cheryl filled in and Avery was happy to hold the star. Jennah was our baby Jesus and was so good. Jenn was the narrator and even got everyone to sing (now that's a miracle if I saw one).

After we opened presents and we always get spoiled! Avery was not too interested in presents all she wanted to do was watch Shrek (her current favorite movie). She was not a happy camper , but at least Boston enjoyed the presents. Avery got a trampoline, pajamas, clothes, movies and a coat. Every year Grandma gives the kids a keepsake this year she gave her Rudolph's bells with a cute little poem.

After presents a few of us played "things" a family favorite! Then Avery perked right up because she was able to watch Tinkerbell. She got a hold of Jennah's bow and loved wearing it..she looked so cute!! I almost forgot Brett and I got a camera from his parents. The best present ever since I lost mine awhile ago. We had such a great night and started some fun traditions. We had to hurry home so Santa could come to our house..

Harris Christmas Party

This year was the off year with my family, so we got together on the 23rd instead. My sister Anne was in town and its always nice to have her around for the holidays. We started the night off with a yummy dinner and the best part catching up with the fam! Avery always has tons of fun running around with her cousins.

We had our annual cousin exchange. The kids always get so excited to open their presents. Stratton gave to Avery and he gave her a cute dora doll and book. Everyone loved their presents and it was a good way to start Christmas off.

The biggest highlight of the night was uncle Wayne's gift. Danny and Heather had given Wayne a puzzle of New York City as a gift, and he has been working hard on it ever since. He had it framed so nice and gave it to them that night. Wayne was so excited to give it to them, and the look on their faces were priceless! Danny went there on his mission, so it makes it even more special. We had such a fun night!!

Decorating cookies

Posted by PicasaAunt Lindsey planned a Christmas activity for the kids. We decorated Christmas trees and gingerbread cookies. Avery would decorate her cookies with candy, but as soon as it was on she was immediately eating it. This girl loves candy!! Its so fun to make traditions and spend time with family. Thanks Lindsey for a fun day.
