Looking back.....

So Jenn and Brandon are also adopting a little girl and she will be making her arrival any minute. I am so excited for them and I can't wait to meet their little miracle. It has made me reflect back on the day we were able to bring her home from Virginia. I was looking back through old posts and realized I didn't have any pictures of us at the airport, so luckily I looked at Jenn's blog and found some. We had spent time in Virginia as most of you know, and that was such a special time, but bringing her home was so exciting. Its so weird to look at the picture of Avery and I..she was so tiny!!

Look at that cute smile..she still smiles from ear to ear!!!

Brett's family met us at the airport and were so excited to meet her. They just fell in love just like we did. I just wanted to post these pictures so I never forget, and most of all so Avery can see them someday. Now that Jenn and Brandon are awaiting the arrival of their little girl. I just get chills thinking about what special moments/memories they are going to make. I am so thankful for these moments that bring me back to how lucky I am to have Avery in my life.

More random pics..

Well as you know Avery and I love ice cream. I have heard about this cute little ice cream place in Ogden that we needed to try. It was such a cute little place it has a little gift shop, and even old fashioned candies. But the best part of it all is they have 75 flavors of ice cream. It was so yummy and if you are ever in Ogden you should go try it.

Aunt Cheryl caught this cute picture of Avery. She loves laying right by the gate and pretends that she is sleeping. Another place she loves to lay down at Grandmas house is Gizmo's kennel. Look how tall she is getting..she can fit from wall to wall. She is just growing up so fast!

Just another cute picture of all us Muirs at craft night.

Craft night!

Friday September 17th was Debbie's birthday. When I got there Friday night Avery and Boston were outside playing with Brandon. Uncle Brandon is so cute with them and they just adore him. Most of all they love playing in Brandon's work van. They could play in there for hours and hours.

We finally convinced the kids to come inside for Grandmas birthday party. We had yummy cake and ice cream. Avery always get excited about ice cream and even more excited about the cone. Boston and Avery got pretty messy, but loved every second.

After we put the kids to bed it was time do our craft. Well Jenn and I didn't have time to get anything, so we decided to make a fast trip to Roberts. Its so nice to go with someone, so we can help each other think of ideas..because you know me not crafty at all. We ended up finding pink chalkboard paint, ribbon and we were off to go make our cute craft. When we got back Debbie and Lindsey were done and they turned out super cute. We had such a fun night and better yet my craft turned out so good, now I just got to figure out what to do with it. I am thinking of putting Avery's hair bows in it or putting it in the bathroom with qtips..who knows. I always love hanging out with the Muir girls...never a dull moment.( I forgot my camera, so I copied these from Jenn's blog. Thanks Jenn for always being on top of the picture taking. )

Night time routine

Posted by PicasaAvery is one funny girl in the bath these days. She loves wearing my moms shower cap and posing for me. She still loves the bath and skips in excitement when its bath time. She loves to sit in the bucket and drink the water. I love bedtime because its time I get to cuddle with my little girl. Our bedtime ritual is take a bath, get jammies on which is quite a chore these days because she wants to run around naked. Brush teeth which she hates, but we do it anyways!! Avery is obsessed with the moon, so I have been taking her outside to see the moon and stars...she loves it and always says pretty moon. Then we say goodnight to the moon, stars and sky. Then we go back inside to read books and then its off to bed. Love my special time with my girl.

Temple Square

Last week Brett had a day off during the week, so we decided to get out and enjoy some family time. We went to see Grandma Muir at work and she treated us to lunch. We went to the Lion house and had a yummy lunch!!

After lunch we took Avery outside to roam around. Grandma Debbie came for a little bit, but had to go back to work. Thanks for joining us for lunch we will have to come again soon! I love Avery in this picture she got right up on the platform and was dancing around..too cute!

She had so much fun running around and she especially loved playing in the water. She could of stayed for hours!! If we wouldn't of been watching her like a hawk I think she would of jumped in the water. Such a beautiful place to get pictures!! We had such a fun day and can't wait to go back. Its so fun to take Avery places because she gets so excited about everything. She is getting more curious about what things are..its so darling! Everything these days is pretty! We walk outside and she says mommy pretty sky, pretty flowers etc. She is such a girly girl and I just love it. Having a girl is so fun and especially with our little bubbly Avery!

Brett the cripple!!

Almost 2 weeks ago Brett broke his toe at work. He got his pinkie toe crushed by a pallet jack holding around 2,000 pounds of dog food. He had to get stitches and be on crutches for a week. The only good thing about that happening is that he got to be home with us. The first couple of days he was in pretty bad pain and rested alot, but Avery and I took good care of him.

All the stores we went to had the little motorized carts for him to get around. When I tried taking a picture Brett always had to do some funny pose! Avery always wanted to ride along with daddy.

It was so nice to have him home and be able to spend some good family time. After 6 days he was able to get off the crutches and start walking on it. He still has to wear the foot boot for another 5 weeks..not so fun! His toe will probably never heal back to normal, but I guess it could have been worse.

Dinosaur Park

Posted by PicasaA few weeks ago we went to the Dinosaur park in Ogden with Angie and Daxton. As soon as we pulled up to the park Avery was super excited to go in, but that was not the case for too long. The very first thing we went to was digging in the sand for dinosaur bones, and she did like that. But as we started walking around the park there is alot of statue dinosaurs that make growling noises, and that just set her off. It scared her too death! she wanted me to hold her the whole time. So with her being scared and all we decided to go over to the playground. That worked for a little while until the lawnmower and weed blowers came on. Avery is so sensitive to noise lately and especially those, so she was for sure not going back into the park to see the dinosaurs. So we stayed at the park the whole time and she loved that at least. She had fun on the swings and climbing on the dinosaur. She is quite the climber these days and is not afraid at all! After we went to lunch at Dylans and had a little time to sit and talk before the kids were ready to go! We had so much fun and hope to get together with Daxton soon.

Avery's birthday bash!!

On Sunday September 15th we had Avery's birthday party. Its her princess party and Avery was of course the princess with the crown and all.

We started off the evening with one of her favorite meals Hawaiian haystacks. I love having her birthday in the summer because we can sit outside and enjoy the weather. Everyone that came was: Grandma and Grandpa Muir, Greg, Cheryl & Boston. Jenn & Brandon, Nate & Lindsey, Wayne and Kendra, Kendal, Kristen and Kaden.

After dinner we went outside for a pinata. Avery was so scared of it and wouldn't even go near it! the other kids loved it and all took a turning trying to break it. After no such luck Brett decided to break it. He used his karate skills and kicked it right open. Avery bawled when he kicked it and wouldn't go near it..once again afraid of weird noises. As soon as I showed her that candy came out of it she was excited!! All the kids got tons of candy and thanks to me they had a sugar high the rest of the night.

We went in for presents and boy did she get spoiled!! She got a tea set, princess stuff, raft and crayons for the bath. She also got a my little pony, backpack, water bottle, clothes, books, movies and a new rocking chair!! so much fun stuff.

After presents we did the cake. She had a Cinderella cake this year and it turned out so cute!! I always hate to cut into it. She loved when everyone sang to her she kept giggling and clapping!! She is learning how to blow and so she couldn't quit blow them out, but with daddy's help they did it!!

After cake we hung out and talked and let the kids play. Avery, Kristen and Kaden had fun playing ring around the rosies with Grandpa. Brett made Avery a birthday video..it was so cute! he did an amazing job as always. Its so fun to watch those videos and see how much by baby has grown. I can't believe she is 2! What a blessing she is. We love you Avery "Happy 2nd Birthday little princess!!! Thanks everyone who came it was a big hit.

Wheeler farm/new friend

The next day the boys were off to a golf tournament. We took the kids to Wheeler farm to see all the animals. Boston and Avery both enjoyed the ducks and we had to pull them away to see the rest of the animals. Next I wanted to take Avery to see horses since that is all she talks about these days. Boy was I wrong.. as we got closer she tightened her grip around me and kept saying don't!! and crying. She was totally terrified of them. Since we only see horses in books or cartoons she must not think the real thing is that cool. So much for the horses. I hope she will get use to them someday!! She did like the bunnys and ducks, but that was about it. Lately she gets scared of the funniest things..I hope this is just a phase. After Wheeler farm we grabbed some lunch and the kids went down for a nap.

After her nap a friend of Samantha's came to visit and bring Avery her birthday present. The funny thing is Lance and I went to high school together. He ended up in Virginia for school and in Samantha's ward..how crazy huh?? He was out here visiting is family and Samantha asked him to bring it by. At first Avery wanted nothing to do with Lance and stayed downstairs. She eventually made her way into the living room and opened her present. She got books and stickers and she immediately loved the book snow white. She sat up by Lance and he read her the book. Soon Avery was smiling and giggling with him.

Avery turns 2!!

My baby turned 2 on August 13th!! I still can't believe that 2 years ago our little miracle was born. We didn't just have one party for her we had a birthday weekend. We started on her actual birthday with a swimming party at Jenn and Brandon's pool. Avery loves to swim so we knew it would be a big hit. All the Muirs were there and even GK joined the party. We had pizza and played in the water.

Avery tried arm floaties and this time she did pretty good, and even liked them. After awhile she was done swimming and just wanted to stay by the steps. She stayed there the rest of the time and Nate played with her..so cute! Brett and Brandon had fun being crazy of course..those two are kids at heart!!! We had such a fun night and couldn't think of better way to spend Avery's birthday. Thanks everyone for coming!!
