Cuddle bug

After bath time Avery always says "rock a baby". That is code word for mommy to bundle her up and rock her. We sing rock a bye baby, row, row your boat, I am a child of god and twinkle little start. These are just a few of her favorite songs. I love that she still will let me hold her like a baby and cuddle..its my favorite time of the day. I will take these moments whenever I can get them because I don't know how long it will last. I love my sweet baby girl.

Friend Christmas Party 2010

Sunday the 12th we had our annual friend Christmas party. Our friend Shauna was even able to join us after being gone for 10 years. We started the night off with a yummy dinner and catching up on each others happenings. While we enjoyed some adult time the kids had fun playing and watching shrek.

Brett was being festive with his snowflake turtleneck and all. You can always count on my hubby to spice up the party.

We can't go without doing our annual white elephant exchange. The presents just keep getting better and more creative. Gaby and Ben always have the funniest gifts and this year they didn't let us down. Each of her gifts had a scary porcelain doll, and all of us girls had the privilege of getting one. By the end of exchange all of our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard..good times.

While we were enjoying our game the boys had a little fun of their own. They had dumped all the bins of toys on the ground..fun huh?? Marci had a cute little story for the kids that went along with a little gift. They loved there yummy little candies that were wrapped inside. We topped the night off with a yummy dessert and a few more laughs before everyone had to go. Thanks everyone for coming its always a blast!! Can't wait til next year.

Daddy's beard

Brett starting growing out his beard for his part as Joseph in our ward Christmas party. I was hoping he would shave it, but now he has another purpose to grow it out. The boys are doing an ugly mustache contest for Christmas eve, so I have to live with it for a few more days. As you know I love Brett with a gotee, but this beard thing is getting out of control!!

Its so long that he is now combing it..Avery loves combing daddy's beard and is pretty entertained by the whole thing. Not only does she love combing it she thinks its pretty funny too. The other day I see them in the living room giggling and having a ball! She thinks its funny when the comb gets stuck in his beard. Well at least someone gets to enjoy the beard because I sure don't. To make matters worse Brett now wants to grow out his hair. I sure hope someone can convince him to cute it (hint, hint).

Play date with Daxton

Every morning when Avery wakes up she asks to play with friends. She is one social little girl. Last week we had a play date with Daxton, and as always they had a blast. These two are so cute together and have such fun personalities. They both are so full of life and have the most contagious laughs.

Avery found one of Daxton's binkies and wouldn't let it go. She doesn't even have a Binky, but for some reason she loves them. We had such a fun day. Thanks Angie for having us over we can't wait til next time.

Shopping

This year I decided to start a tradition..shopping with the Muir girls. We started the day off with lunch at kneaders and then we shopped til we dropped! I got alot of my shopping done which was nice, but we had to have a little fun in between.

Thanks girls for such a fun day! Can't wait til next year and maybe we can even go bigger...say shopping in New York City!! A girl can dream right?? (Debbie was there too, but we couldn't convince her to join in the pictures.)

Christmas tree

I always get excited about Christmas and want to get the tree up right away. We started the night off with a trip to Brett's favorite place to eat Five guys..Yummy! Then we came home and started on the tree. At first Avery loved helping and then before you knew it she was making her own little bed on the chair. So she spent most the time relaxing and watching us do it all.

She finally got up and helped us put the decorations up. She was such a big helper and the tree turned out awesome! She loves the tree and asks every morning to turn it on. And the most surprising thing is she doesn't even mess with the decorations. She just loves looking at the beautiful tree and so do I. I just love this time of year!

Jabber mouth!

Avery has been talking like crazy lately! The last few weeks I have been documenting some of the funny things she says. Most of the time she surprises me with the things she says, and Brett and I both look at each other and say where did she come up with that. I just love her cute little voice and the way she says it. I just wish you could all hear her. I just love this age so much and the new things she comes up with everyday. Here are some of the fun things she is saying:

She is always turning and circles and says "mommy I getting dizzy."

She is always putting on my necklaces and says mommy "I pretty." Look at my pretty dress. She also loves to pretend she is sleeping and one of her favorite places is the stairs. She gets all cozy and says mommy look at me..I sleeping. Everyday I love to see what words she will come up with. She is just growing up so fast!

She is putting sentences together and its so fun to see her communicate what she needs. And most of all so nice for me that I can understand want she needs. She now tells me when she is hungry or tired. She is such a little smarty pants!! I love this age!!

Turkey Day!

Harris Thanksgiving 2010! We missed you Mom, Dad and Anne.

Happy Turkey Day!!

We had Thanksgiving at my sisters house this year. Thanks to my brother Danny who has become a gourmet cook we had a delicious dinner. All the recipes that we made were ones that he got off one of his favorite websites. I was a little nervous about it because I didn't know if we could live up to the high expectations. But everyone did a great job!! While they were getting final touches ready I took pictures. Look at Lola she is almost as tall as me and is only 7! Lila and Henry were are just too cute!!

Little kids table. They loved all sitting together and loved all the yummy food. The hit of the dinner was Danny's homemade rolls (you couldn't just eat just one.)

Denise joined us this year and it was so fun to have her come. The kids loved her!! After dinner Wayne, me, Brett & Denise joined the kids for a round of games. We first played Mad gab and it was a huge hit. It got pretty noisy with all the screaming and laughing.



We then played spoons and after a few rounds we decided to mix it up a little. It was time to get down to business and be mean and dirty..we played killer spoons!! Its where you put the spoons far away in random places, so you have to run to get your spoon. When it comes to getting a spoon you don't care who you hurt, and you will do anything to get it. The funniest one they did that I got on camera was when they had to get their spoons at the top of the stairs. Brett & Ashlyn were pulling on each others shirts, legs or whatever to get up there faster. It was the funniest thing to watch and they all could not stop laughing. Brett didn't end up with a spoon, but he put up a good fight.



Brett & Austin always find something to entertain themselves. Brett was trying to get Austin to touch the ceiling, and they didn't stop trying til they got it down.

The kids are always wrestling Brett and its so funny to watch. Brett is the best uncle and is always up for whatever game they want to play even if its gang up on Brett day!!

Avery was watching Toy Story 1 in Jenny's room. When I came in to check on her she had gotten in the covers and was just relaxing...so cute!

After we had some yummy pie we headed downstairs. The kids watched Toy story 3 while us adults watched the comedian Brian Regan on the other TV. If you have never seen him you need to its so hilarious! I was sitting by Andrew and we laughed the whole time that my cheeks hurt!!

Jenny has a huge beanbag at her house and this is one of Avery's favorite places to play. Brett was tossing Avery into the beanbag and she was giggling and having so much fun. Lila and Henry wanted to join in on the fun. They did this for a good hour and still didn't want to stop. We had such a fun day and it was so nice to just spend time with the family.

Date night

Last Friday night Avery & I had a date night while daddy was at work. Before going in we had a little photo shoot together. She was so cute and smiley..as usual!

Every Friday at the Tree house they have the prices discounted. The place is usually packed, but this night it was pretty quiet. Fridays its also alphabet day and the letter that night was "F". They had it over by the fish tank and the guy sang a cute fish song and taught us about the letter. Avery loved it and most of all loved sitting by the little kids.

They have a room with dolls and I thought Avery would love it, but she was more interested in eating the bottle herself. She loved the bridge and was running and hopping down it a million times. They also have a computer where we watch a cute little video that told a story about a mouse. She was totally glued to that show I pretty much had to pry her away.

Her favorite room of them all was the music room. They have tons of xylophones on the wall and she loved going back and forth to each one. There was a lady in there playing, and she went right down and sat by her. The lady was so cute with her and was teaching her how to play. This girl loves music and I hope its something she will enjoy when she is older. We ended the night getting ice cream at Farr's. I always love spending time with my little munchkin!

Boston the photographer

On Halloween Boston was being a little too quiet. He had found my camera and took my pictures of himself. He did a pretty good job for being 2 don't ya think?? Such a funny kid! We just love him to pieces!!!

Toy Story 3

On Saturday we decided to take Avery to a movie. We went a little movie theater in Ogden to go see Toy story 3. Ashlyn had already seen it, but she loved it so she didn't mind seeing it again. Brett and I were a little nervous taking Avery to an actual theater because we thought she might run wild! But it started off good since we went to the 1145 showing and we were the only ones there. She did so good and was so memorized by the movie and all the action. She would roam in the isle and then back to her seat, but she still watched it the whole time. She would clap and giggle and get so excited. She has been asking to watch the movie ever since. Such a fun day and now I can't wait to take her to another movie. Ashlyn we loved having you over..come again soon.

Ashlyn comes to visit!

Last Friday my niece Ashlyn came to spend the night. We started the night with raking the leaves for the second time ( the leaves here are out of control!) Ashlyn was such a good helper and didn't complain at all.

Avery woke up from her nap and was so excited to see Ashlyn. Avery says her name so cute!! We of course had to have some fun playing in the leaves. I thought if I showed Avery how it was done she would be super excited to try. She was not going for the idea, so Brett had to throw her in. She hated it was pretty much crying the whole time, but at least I got pictures.

Brett always has to have some fun while working. He started a little leave fight with Ash..she held her own awesome!! It was quite entertaining to watch. So much for raking the leaves....

That night I had plans with friends, so Ashlyn got to hang out with Brett and Avery. They went to dinner and then came back and watched the best 2 years. They had a great night and so did I.

My little strawberry

Avery is in love with her Halloween costume. She would wear it everyday and all day if I let her. She wakes up every morning saying " I want my strawberry dress." I didn't mind if she wore it in the house, but I learned my lesson after having to take it off to get her pajamas on. She freaked out and cried and cried..so after a few nights of that I hid it. She has not found it again, but she still asks about it all the time. I love that she loves it, but she was getting a little obsessed. I will bring it out again soon. She is the cutest strawberry ever!!

Musikgarten

My sister is teaching a music class this year at her home. Avery is in the toddler class with 5 other little kids. We go every Wednesday, and she looks forward to it all week. Before this class Avery already loved music and dancing, but this has brought it out even more! She just beems from ear to ear in class and its so fun to watch her. All the other kids just love her and they all interact so cute together and she loves her new little friends. Its so fun because us moms get to be right there with them singing, bouncing them and dancing. Brett was able to come to one of the classes and see how much fun we have. We have the music at our house, and its so fun to watch her do what she has learned in class and remember each action. There is a song where they get scarfs and dance around with the other kids. When we are at home and she hears it she grabs both of us a dish towel and we dance around the house..so cute!!

I can't wait to put her dance she will be the the cutest little ballerina!!

Best of friends

Every Wednesday after music class Evie comes over to play. These two are so funny together! The other day they were putting on my shoes and dancing on the fireplace, Evie was especially getting into the dancing..so cute! Evie always says how much she loves her, and always calls her "my little sister". They are the cutest little friends and I am so glad Avery has a big sister/cousin to take care of her.
